Chrystal Dance Prize • Emerging Dance Artists

Dance Victoria is now accepting applications from dance artists to be considered for the 2016 Chrystal Dance Prize – Emerging Dance Artists.

The Chrystal Dance Prize is Canada’s richest prize for international collaboration. Earlier in 2016, $30,000 was awarded to two independent dance artists: Justine A. Chambers ($20,000) and David Ferguson ($10,000). Dance Victoria will award an additional $5,000 in this Emerging Dance Artist category for young dancers completing their training at a recognized international dance institution. Past awards have been provided for students attending The Juilliard School, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of Ballet (ABT), Butler University and more.

Deadline for application submissions is May 13, 2016.

The Chrystal Dance Prize is generated from a substantial bequest made by Dance Victoria patron, Dr. Betty “Chrystal” Kleiman, to the Victoria Foundation. A committee of dance professionals is assembled each year to select the recipients.
