Dance Victoria is thrilled to present San Francisco’s Alonzo King LINES Ballet at the Royal Theatre on March 10 and March 11, 2017
for a thrilling double bill of innovative new works by King.
Alonzo King is a visionary choreographer whose works are in the repertoire of the Royal Swedish Ballet, Frankfurt Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Hubbard Street Dance and many more. His distinctive style melds hearts and science, and the insanely talented corps of dancers in his LINES Ballet Company is spectacular, known for their long limbs that go on forever.
King has a knack for expanding his vision by collaborating with top-flight musicians and artists. For his latest work, Sand, King’s choreography takes inspiration from a new musical score by the prolific jazz masters Charles Lloyd and Jason Moran….
