Dance Victoria will host its first Choreographic Lab and “Writing Dance” Lab at Dance Victoria Studios in the summer of 2017 with celebrated choreographer Wen Wei Wang and dance writer Kaija Pepper. Wang will lead a two-week intensive lab for three emerging choreographers from July 17 to 29, 2017. Pepper will facilitate three workshops for writers on July 17, 29 and 30.
“The Choreographic Lab and Writing Dance Lab support developing artists by exposing them to veteran choreographers and writers who bring an amazing toolbox of skills and experience,” explains Stephen White, Executive Producer, Dance Victoria. “The labs also assist Dance Victoria in identifying artists for future residencies and commissions. It builds audience engagement in our community and increases appreciation for dance as an art form.”
