raised of a $10,000.00 goal
Meredith Kalaman, a B.C. born choreographer and dancer, is creating Femme Fatales, her first full-length dance work, inspired by the witch-hunt era. Visceral in expression and dynamic in exploration, this poetic trio for three women investigates the impacts of gender socialization on present day society, by tracking the evolution of femininity through time.
Meredith recently launched her own dance company, Explosive Reflections and is a Recipient of the 2015 Chrystal Dance Prize from Dance Victoria. She will be in Residency in Victoria in January/February 2016 working with International Artist, Gabi Beier to further develop this work.
Meredith is asking for your support to raise $10,000 to fund the Production of Femme Fatales.
Your donation will fund:
– the Choreographic and Rehearsal Fees to complete the creation of the work
– an Original Soundtrack composed by local musician, Stefan Smulovitz
– Building the Set Design ~ Meredith’s vision includes three cauldrons for the dancers to fly around the stage on
Thank you for supporting this work and ensuring this vital conversation is shared with the world!
The full-length performance will premiere in early 2017 (donation rewards listed below apply to this Premiere Performance)….watch out for the witches….
