Best known for presenting the World’s Best Dance at the Royal Theatre in Victoria each season, Dance Victoria is also mandated to support the development of dance artists and new dance works across various programs including Rough Cuts, The Chrystal Dance Prize and an annual Choreographic Lab.

Each January, Dance Victoria invites its dance-programming colleagues from across the country to see new works in development during its Dance Days Festival. In 2019, these programmers will see new works by Mahaila Patterson-O’Brien, Julianne Chapple, Stacey Horton, Sudesh Adhana and Lindsay Delaronde on January 25 and 26. These showings, known as Rough Cuts, are performed at the Metro Studio Theatre and Intrepid Theatre Club in downtown Victoria. They include a brief discussion with the artists following the performance and are open to the public. For a complete schedule and to RSVP to reserve your seat, visit dancevictoria.com/dancedays, There is a suggested donation of $15 at the door.
