Sarah Hutton was raised in Hanna, AB. She moved to Vancouver in 2013 and has since trained with the Source Dance Company, EDAM, and Modus Operandi Contemporary Training Program, graduating from the program in 2020 with the support of three successful Training Scholarships from the BC Arts Council. She has had the pleasure to perform and/or collaborate with; Paras Terezakis (Kinesis Dance), Shay Kuebler (Radical System Art), Jennifer Mascall (Mascall Dance), David Raymond & Tiffany Tregarthen (Out Innerspace Dance Theatre), Julie-anne Saroyan (Dances for a Small Stage), Heather Dotto, and Joanne Pesusich. Sarah was recently chosen for Peggy Baker Dance Project’s Emerging Artist Program.

Sarah and Aiden’s first collaboration as co-choreographers began as they finished their formal dance training at MO; they had an intuitive chemistry that would create a strong base from which to create. From that moment, the two began making plans to continue their collaboration. Their shared love of highly physical partnering, character driven narrative, and comedic devices are the foundation for their company, Generous Mess. Their choreography and performance is featured in indie/folk band Rumour Mill’s music video “Wake Me Up”. Their recent debut live work was commissioned and presented at Dancing On the Edge Festival in July 2021 in Vancouver, BC. Sarah and Aiden are privileged to live and dance as guests on the traditional unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples – Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
