Jordan is a dance artist and movement therapist based on the traditional and unceded territories of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ People, now known as Victoria, BC. In her practice, Jordan uses movement as a healing modality. Utilizing the body as a doorway to the present moment, she uses movement as a process which furthers the emotional, cognitive, physical, relational, and spiritual integration of a person. This work has included the development of community based programs in the areas of mental health, and physical and developmental disabilities, and she continues to work directly with individuals supporting their healing from trauma. Jordan is trained in Contemporary Dance and specializes in Authentic Movement. She has trained with internationally renowned Trauma Informed Movement Therapists Amber Grey, and received extensive training in Trauma informed Dance Movement Therapy through the American Dance Movement Therapy Association, Laban Movement Analysis and other forms of observation, and Applied Methods with Clinical Populations and Group Processing. Jordan is continually drawn to producing and co-creating work that uses personal narratives to engage communities with the social and political content that matters to them. Jordan is forever grateful to have dance in her life, as moving her body has helped her become a better communicator, learn to trust, and attune better to the relationships she holds close.
