FREE Dance Improvisation Workshop

June 12, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Dance Victoria welcomes Residency Artist Stacey Horton, who will use her time at DV Studios to develop the choreography for her latest work, Framed. As part of her residency, Stacey will be offering a free dance improvisation workshop.

Register here beginning 10am June 3

What to Expect
This all-levels workshop invites creativity, play, and exploration through movement and structures of dance improvisation. We will begin with a guided independent warm-up that moves gradually from the floor to standing. Dancers are encouraged to follow their impulses as we transition into group scores, creating in-the-moment dances. Stacey will share inspirations from her choreographic residency around the idea of “coming home”, bridging oneself, one’s community, and the space we inhabit.

  • Class level: All levels
  • Led by: Stacey Horton
  • Live Musical Accompaniment: David Parfit
  • Pre-registration required.
  • Please arrive at 11:45 am for sign-in.
