Join us for an in-person Q&A
In 2025, Dance Victoria will allocate $44,790 to Western Canadian dance artists through the prestigious Chrystal Dance Prize–Projects (CDP). This award supports exceptional dance research and/or creation between Western Canadian dance artists, collectives, or companies and their international collaborators.
We want to hear about your projects! If you are considering applying and would like to inquire about the prize, join Dance Victoria’s Executive Director, Gillian Jones, and Artist Programs & Studio Manager, Kiera Shaw, for an informal Open House session where you can:
- Bring your project ideas and inquire about eligibility;
- Ask questions 1:1 related to your CDP–Projects application; and
- Seek clarity about the application form and process.
Reminder that applicants must:
- Have a home address in Western Canada (BC, AB, SK, MB, YT, NWT, NU);
- Be currently active in the professional dance milieu;
- Have a history of creation and collaboration; and
- Be seeking a partnership with an international dance artist or artists residing outside Canada.
Expressions of Interest for the Chrystal Dance Prize–Projects must be received by Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 5:00 pm PDT. Please refer to the full Application Guidelines for details.
