Quicksbottom Border Morris Dancers

January 21 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Morris dancing is a centuries-old traditional English folk dance. Quicksbottom Border Morris Dancers dance a style of Morris dancing – Border Morris – that is quite energetic and flamboyant. .We don’t currently have a website, but you can see some video of us here – https://www.facebook.com/groups/487527203559526/posts/607296891582556/
and also here – https://www.facebook.com/IslandThymeMorris/videos/quicksbottom/1675964566574924/

We practice every Wednesday from 6.30 – 7.30 PM in the Movement Studio in the Young Building (Room Y 114) at the Lansdowne Campus of Camosun College,. Our practices are always open to new dancers and we also welcome new musicians as, unlike most folk dance groups, we have live music. We dance out at events and public spaces in the summer, starting at dawn on May Day (May 1st) – a tradition followed by all Morris dancers around the world (and there is a strong global network of sides) because if we don’t, the sun won’t rise! We also continue to practice Wednesday evenings all summer, but outside, usually by the new Pavilion in Esquimalt Gorge Park..

If you would like to attend our practice (any Wednesday night, not just in Dance Week), please e-mail Trevor Hancock at [email protected]
