Fran comes to the board with a keen interest in the arts, dance, social justice and advocacy. She is a social worker and Faculty Emerita at Langara College in Vancouver. Throughout her career, she has been an activist in the field of children’s rights and violence against women and has served on a number of boards and committees that advocated for children, youth, women and the most vulnerable. She chaired the board for the Judith Marcuse Dance Company in Vancouver for a number of years and is very passionate about mentoring and supporting young people both in the arts and in the social justice movement. She is currently a member of the Victoria Shoah Committee which is dedicated to both remembering the Holocaust and educating young people and the greater community as a way of promoting peace and tolerance amongst us. Since moving to Victoria she has been very delighted with the performances of Dance Victoria and is passionate about supporting the organization as it moves forward into a vibrant future.
