General Manager
Bernard is responsible for programming, development and fundraising in collaboration with Gillian Jones. Before joining Dance Victoria, Bernard was co-founder of Eponymous in Vancouver, assisting arts organizations and artists working in Canadian dance, film, music theatre and the visual arts. He was also a Program Officer at the Canada Council for the Arts. He is passionate about bringing exciting live dance performances for the public in Victoria.
His work life has taught him to be “true to yourself and follow your heart.” He follows the advice of his father who told him to “do something you love in your life.” In his free time, he enjoys being in nature under big open skies. Bernard is a fan of choreographer William Forsythe’s work. He saw Ballet BC perform his Enemy in the Figure and was at the edge of his seat for the whole piece. “It was so riveting.”
