This world-renowned company of 22 classically trained dancers is rarely seen outside Europe. In this 2009 version of Shakespeare’s classic tale of love and loss, choreographer Joëlle Bouvier has abstracted the Prokofiev score and concentrated on the story’s essential turning points, allowing the medium of dance to speak directly to the audience’s hearts and emotions. Simply beautiful.
Headed by Philippe Cohen, Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève has 22 dancers of different nationalities. Classically trained, the company interprets neo-classical and contemporary choreography.
