This treasured holiday classic, danced to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score by one of Canada’s most beloved ballet companies, takes audiences on a wondrous adventure with Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. A heart-warming ballet is full of surprises, the Nutcracker features endearing Canadian scenes such as a snowy pond hockey game and the RCMP battling the Mouse King. Sumptuous costumes and sets make this classic sparkle, delighting audiences of all ages with its beauty and splendor.

Versatility, technical excellence and a captivating style are the trademarks of Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, qualities that have garnered both critical and audience acclaim. Founded in 1939 by Gweneth Lloyd and Betty Farrally, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet holds the double distinction of being Canada’s premier ballet company and the longest continuously operating ballet company in North America. In 1953, the Company received its royal title, the first granted under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
