March 24, 2020
Dance Victoria’s highest priority is the health and welfare of its patrons, artists, staff and volunteers. As such, Dance Victoria is announcing the cancellation of its final dance performance of the 19/20 Season, Tania Pérez-Salas Compañía de Danza from Mexico City on May 1 and May 2, 2020 at the Royal Theatre, due to COVID-19.
Any patron who has purchased tickets to these performances can request a ticket refund. However, if you have the means, please consider donating your tickets back to Dance Victoria to receive a charitable tax receipt. Your ticket donations will help offset the loss of income in these unforeseen circumstances.
To request a refund or donate your tickets, you must email the Royal Theatre and McPherson Playhouse.
The Royal Theatre and the McPherson Playhouse is closed until Tuesday, April 14, 2020. The complete shutdown includes over the phone Box Office services. The Box Office is available for refund requests of cancelled or postponed performances by email only. They can be reached Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm at [email protected].You have 60 days from the date of the performances to take action (by July 1, 2020).
The cancellation of the Tania Pérez-Salas Compañía de Danza performances (May 2020) and Ballet BC performances (March 2020) are devastating and adversely affecting Dance Victoria’s financial position. As a non-profit, charitable organization, Dance Victoria relies on the support of the community to keep our organization viable.
If you would like to show your support for Dance Victoria, please consider:
– Donating tickets to cancelled performances for a tax receipt (see above)
– Subscribing to our upcoming 2020/21 Season in the fall of 2020
– Making a donation
– Purchasing Dance Victoria raffle tickets
Please stay in touch and follow Dance Victoria on social media and visit our website for further information and updates. We will get through this and come together once again to celebrate the World’s Best Dance.
Thank you for your support, cooperation and understanding. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
May you be happy, healthy and well.
