How To Cast to a Smart TV

Watching our Virtual Season on your TV

Either Option A:

Have a TV with a “casting” or “wireless streaming” device attached, such as an Apple TV*, Chromecast or Roku.  *Note: Apple TV and AirPlay work only with Apple devices (iPhones, MacBook laptops etc)

Or Option B:

Have a TV with built in Apple TV, Chromecast or Roku.

Note:  If you do not have either A or B (or some other streaming device), you will be limited to watching the performance on a computer, smartphone or tablet.

Connect casting device or TV to the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device or computer.

When you click a link for a video on the Virtual Season Performance page, a window will pop up for your video playback. On the bottom right of this window, you should see a ‘small TV’ icon with either an arrow attached to the bottom of it, or a series of concentric “waves” in the corner. You may also see this symbol in your top row of icons on your computer (beside the date and time).

When you click on this icon, your casting device should automatically be detected, and instructions to pair it with your mobile device or computer will come up on your screen.
Part of these instructions will involve connecting your casting device to a Wi-Fi network. Casting to your TV will only work if you select the same Wi-Fi network that your mobile device or computer is already connected to.

Once you have specified the casting device as the output for your video playback, the video should be redirected to your TV.

Unfortunately, due to the diversity of casting devices and TVs available, it is not possible to provide you with technical support for your individual set-up, but we hope these instructions will be helpful.
