Dance Victoria, home of Canada’s Chrystal Dance Prize, today announced two winners in the 2018 Emerging Artists award category. A panel of three dance professionals selected the winners through an application process.

Dance Victoria is pleased to support dancer Holden Cole from Port Alberni, who was recently accepted into The Juilliard School. Cole trained at Canada’s National Ballet School and DanzMode Productions. He hopes to dance with a contemporary/modern company in Europe after his training at Julliard. Dance Victoria awarded $3,000 towards his tuition.

For a second year, Dance Victoria will support local dancer, Adrian de Leeuw, who recently completed his first year at the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program. Before LINES, de Leeuw was a student in the Bridge Professional Training Program at the Victoria Academy of Ballet. He hopes to dance in Europe and hone his choreography skills.
