As General Manager, Dayna is responsible for financial leadership, operations, contract management, and grant reporting for Dance Victoria. Prior to joining the Dance Victoria team, Dayna’s career has always had one foot in the arts as a dancer and arts administrator, and another in business as a CPA working in both public practice and for owner-managed businesses. This position allows Dayna to combine these worlds, as she always hoped she could, by contributing to the dance community that Dance Victoria fosters. She says, “there is tremendous motivation in knowing that the work provides Victoria audiences the opportunity to be moved by exceptional dance each season.”

Dayna founded and manages the Leña Artist Research and Residency Centre on Galiano Island, a small self-directed residency for artists of any discipline, and she treasures her own practices of tap dance, flamenco, and photography. Refusing to narrow it down to a single dance highlight, Dayna’s fondest dance audience memories include “but are in no way limited to” Jimmy Slyde at the 2002 NYC Tapcity Festival, Rocío Molina’s Caída del Cielo at Chaillot Théâtre national de la danse in Paris in 2016, and Israel Galván’s Arena at the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza at La Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla in 2018.
