Matriarchs Uprising is a 3-day festival (June 18-20) of contemporary Indigenous women’s dance, presented by Dance Victoria in partnership with O.Dela Arts. Making its Victoria debut at DV’s Quadra Village Studios, the event features Zaagi’idiwin: Our Mothering Heart, a triple-bill by choreographers Samantha Sutherland, Sophie Dow, and Olivia C. Davies. Alongside performances, the festival offers community workshops and circle conversations led by Indigenous artists, fostering connection and knowledge-sharing among participants.
