For over fifteen years, Dance Victoria has supported B.C. dance artists — championing the development of new work for the international stage from our Quadra Village studios.

Participating artists can access professional dance studios, Chrystal Dance Prize choreographic and training awards, and residencies to research, develop, and refine new dance works. We believe that what happens in our studios and what happens on the Royal Theatre and McPherson Playhouse stages are part of the same story.

Artist Residencies

Each year, Dance Victoria offers B.C. dance artists a structured block of time to develop new work — with studio access, direct financial support, and mentorship. Application for the 2026/27 residency cycle opens May 1.

Eligibility

B.C.-based dance artists and collectives. All disciplines welcome.

What's Included

Up to 80 hours in DV’s professional studios. Direct funding toward your project. Access to Dance Victoria’s network and team. Optional Rough Cuts (work-in-progress) showing.
